A new haircut can change so much.  Although I only went a few inches shorter, I always like starting off the new school year with freshly cut ends.  This time I was really feeling the shorter length to give me pin-straight hair just a little more liveliness.  While the cut goes straight across, the clean look was the style I was looking for and could not be happier with!  (This top was also perfect for showing off the shorter length…and the tan lines)

Her Majesty’s Pleasure

I’ve been dying at the thought of this one and I’m just so pumped to finally be writing about it; it being Her Majesty’s Pleasure.  Not only does this place boast a cool, fun vibe but it combines basically everything anyone could dream of in one place.  We’re talking part café, part bar, part salon and hangout.  What! I’ve been here a couple times so far and I was beyond excited yesterday to be spending an afternoon totally dedicated to my girls Steph and Amelia.  With an awesome “heat wave” deal offered for customers in the know (check out Instagram guys!), we were heading down for some manis, drinks, and a good catch-up sesh. Dividing the areas up were these gorgeous glass windowed walls that let ample daylight in and make the space glow in the afternoon light.  Bookshelves are adorned with the most adorable dog figurines along with none of than fashion icon books like Chanel.  White marble counter tops and small touches of blues, greys, and yellows keep the space looking so simple …

It’s been a hard winter (I think everyone can attest to that) so at every opportunity I will trade in my Goose for something a little more fun.  It was so great to finally reach single digits so I took advantage of this and threw on my favourite coat from Danier (similar here) and combined with my leather backpack that I picked up in Italy last summer, I was good to go and hit the books!  With the designer backpacks on the rise, this style is beyond convenient and plays up the school girl element that comforts me as I apply to grad schools and wait patiently for responses; keeping that innocent ignorance can be a huge bonus.    Some of my favourite styles include Mulberry, Rebecca Minkoff, and Aritzia but everyone’s got these in store so I’m there are other amazing finds out there! This dark lip is also something inspired by InStyle’s January issue and I’m hooked! (Lip colour: Black Cherry by Revlon)

Cold-weather Friday musts!

Just like anyone else, the things at the top of your drawers are the ones you pick up day after day, wash after wash, and you just can’t seem to get bored of.  So today, I’m sharing some of my favourites that I just can’t get enough of this season. When fall comes around, that whole weather dilemma seems to stump everybody; do I wear my coat, lighter jacket, rain jacket, parka? Who knows.  But when the winds start picking up, my pleather leggings and plaid scarf are a go-to.  The leggings I got at Mango last year (they have even more styles available this year) are a staple for basically any outfit.  I’m not a fan of wearing leggings in general, but with a tunic or longer, minimalist top, the outfit basically puts itself together effortlessly.  Plus! Students get 25% off, what’s not to love?  Similarly, scarves are a must. When winter comes around, you’re not going to want a scarf with an open-weave resulting in chilly winds making its way down your front.  …
