Birthday Specials

Now I’m sure a lot of you are starting to get tired of me talking about birthdays and I swear it’s almost all over but being a student and all (like I know most of you reading this are), I want to take advantage of all the discounts and specials I can.  During birthday season, tons of stores offer specials for their customers just to celebrate the one time of year that’s really all about you.  That’s why I’m happy to share some of my secrets that I more than encourage you all to take part in! Although a lot of these places require you to enter your email and sign up for their newsletters, most of the stores don’t send out dozens a day, so I think it’s still way worth it (plus, they give you fashion, beauty, and other updates throughout the year to stay in the loop). Menchie’s – One of my favourites here (ice cream is my kryptonite). If you have an avid frozen yogurt eater, I’m sure you have a …

Green Tea Salmon Inspired by Jamie Oliver

This one’s been in the making for a while, my reinvented green tea salmon inspired by none other than my favourite Jamie Oliver.  I never seem to get bored of using Jamie Oliver’s recipes and as I use them more and more I think of different ways to incorporate new elements to play up different flavours, textures, or whatever the case may be.  This recipe of Jamie’s comes in his 15 Minute Meals cookbook which makes it so simple and easy to make! It started out with a pilot test; I got small quantities of three different flavoured green teas to test out and then went on from there.  Originally I tried out Roasted Gyokuro, Organic Countess of Seville, and Toasted Walnut.  Out of those, my favourites were definitely Organic Countess …

Cold-weather Friday musts!

Just like anyone else, the things at the top of your drawers are the ones you pick up day after day, wash after wash, and you just can’t seem to get bored of.  So today, I’m sharing some of my favourites that I just can’t get enough of this season. When fall comes around, that whole weather dilemma seems to stump everybody; do I wear my coat, lighter jacket, rain jacket, parka? Who knows.  But when the winds start picking up, my pleather leggings and plaid scarf are a go-to.  The leggings I got at Mango last year (they have even more styles available this year) are a staple for basically any outfit.  I’m not a fan of wearing leggings in general, but with a tunic or longer, minimalist top, the outfit basically puts itself together effortlessly.  Plus! Students get 25% off, what’s not to love?  Similarly, scarves are a must. When winter comes around, you’re not going to want a scarf with an open-weave resulting in chilly winds making its way down your front.  …
